I renew my passport, will they ask for physical passport? Or just digital copy?

I renew my passport back in October, cause my old one expires today, the new passport doesn't have a Visa (also now they won't ask for a Visa for Mexicans), will they ask for physical passport? Or just digital copy?

If you are from visa exempt countries, they will ask for passport copy. Otherwise, the actual passport.

Either case, you need to file CSE and let them know and explain your situation.

SE? CIC already ask for a copy of my new passport back in Jan 15 they got it on Jan 18! And on ECAS it says decision made since last Tuesday Jan 27!

Mexico used to required a Visa, but they change that this year! Unless you are entering by land or sea, but by air you don't longer need visa.

I'm nowhere near PPR stage, so I can't speak out of experience.

but I believe CBSA checks your passport at landing and will notice a different passport number. Not sure if it would cause doubts during landing. So let CIC know with Case specific enquiry and they should tell you what's needs to be done. or in any case, bring your old passport to landing.

I already sent a photo copy of my new passport! They know I have a new one
