I put "urgent " on my application box

I am sponsering my partner who is a syrian refugee in lebanon.
He ws attacked recently and hospitalized and now facing horrible situatikn without the ability to call authorities.
We reported that to United nations and got hospital reports ....
I put urgent on my application
Inside , i included few documents to prove that our case is very time sensetive.
Does anyone know of " urgent" label works?

To make this short and simple, your best option is to call CIC at 1-888-242-2100 and tell them exactly what you wrote here and they will give you specific details. Good luck

Thanks for your advice, I called CIC and their answer was :
When we read the label URGENT we usually give priority to that application, but if it wasn't urgent. That might further delay the process. The employee was nice enough to explain that they rarely get such labels for family sponsorship as everyone is aware that it's time consuming. Such labels are usually seen with citizenship applications or PR renewals in case of death , sickness and funerals or urgent ticket bookings.
 
Hi as an update, they received the application on the 3rd of november. I got a phone call on the 7th
And they promised to process it by next week max.
Hopefully i will get accepted as a sponsor

That is great! There situation is so tough over there. I'm happy Canada is making efforts to get them out of there when they can. Good luck!
 
Angryractanglr, thank u soo much for the info.
We got the sponsorship acceptance letter today. So it was really quick.
I called cic, and tbey told me that the file was transferred to beirut with an urgent note and they told me its going to be expedited . Yaaay

Hurray! Our process took about 7 months, I hope yours is even faster! :)
 
I contacted UNHCR in Geneva, Lebanon and Canada. Emailed the minister of immiragration, irap, MP, and embassy in Beirut. I sent them all our proofs we got and now fingers crossed
