My cousin was refused a student visa to Canada because of insufficient funds,
her mum had $40k in her account after paying her school fees. Now her dad wants to transfer an additional $15k to her mum's account before she reapply. I want to know if adding this bulk money will become a problem. thanks

Have father show the money in his personal account. Do the parents have other children they are supporting? Have to show that cousin has not only the funds but parents can still support themselves and any children.

What program? Is the 40k liquid funds? Personal account? Was the father’s personal savings not included in the first application?

No, she only submitted her mother's bank statement because she is her sponsor. Should her father also submit his bank statement of account, or send the $15k to his wife's account?

It is a one-year program. $ 40k is the mother's balance . No, her father's savings were not included
How old is she? If not under 22, she needs to show her own funds. Showing father's funds may make no difference. Was that the only reason because usually it is also not a temporary stay.

What school and program? Is the 40k liquid cash (not FDs)? If the parents are married why did the mother only provide proof of savings? Do the parents have other personal savings and assets? Did they order GCMS notes? There can often be more details in the GCMS notes and sometimes there are other reasons contributing to the refusal mentioned in the GCMS notes. VOs sometimes just check off the biggest reason for refusal not all the reasons for the refusal from the list of prepared reasons for refusal.

She is 18 years old
School is Brandon university, manitoba
Course pre-nursing

Have father show personal bank statements. So what is she going to do after pre-nursing if only a one year program. She would have to show the funds again for a BScN so that may be an issue with IRCC too. How will she pay for the next 3 years because she will need PAL, LOA, tuition paid and funds. So funds was the only issue, not will not return or not a temporary stay.

This program normally leads into a Bachelor of Nursing. Otherwise there's really no point in taking the pre-nursing course. Did she indicate in her LOE that she planned to then take the BN?

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

As others have pointed out she needs to be able to show she’ll be able to afford to pay for all 4 years of the nursing degree and living costs. Either she’ll need to show more savings or the ability of her sponsors to save a substantial amount of money every year to keep funding her education. Unless your parents have a lot of excess savings she should do a nursing degree at home, get some work experience and then try to immigrate to Canada and get licensed as an RN in Canada.

So she is taking a pre-nursing program and next year will need new LOA and PAL to continue in the program. This will be another $21k plus tuition. Where is all the money coming from as she just has enough for first year. How will other years be paid for? Parents don't have enough.
