Firstly I wish to introduce myself my name is Abdalkarim Abdalkader I am a refugee from Syria , from the city of Aleppo where much of the Syrian war has taken place. I have mother father and four brothers but unfortunately faced a situation where I had to leave my home in Syria and all the things which were important to me .All we wanted was freedom form injustices but for this we paid a heavy price there were so many deaths in my hometown during demonstrations due to the war the memories are still in my mind year after year day after day we witnessed deaths .All of my family suffered in this war Syria and most lost their jobs along with homes it so difficult and testing for all of us. Even just to go out and buy food was a so difficult and I was forced to flee our beloved country leaving behind all our belongings and any chance of a life and future there. I faced many hardships and was continuously at risk of being taken by the Syrian army as a result of all this oppression and hardship I had to find a way to support my entire family. I saved what little was remaining and travel ,to Lebanon to support my family however the situation is not much better here in Lebanon but life is so difficult there are few opportunities to work for Syrian people , due to government regulations . That make me under pressure to help my family and I am the only breadwinner , , I can't go anywhere , and not comfortable to stay here in place that I don't have any opportunity to improve myself , most of the jobs here only for natives , and the Syrians are not valued ..
I tried to stay positive for my family but it was not easy process and finally I left Syria to go to Lebanon and have been unable to achieve any of my goals in life . I had worked hard in college and university in Aleppo as I believe educations is the best way forward in life my hopes and dreams have been diminished . There are no opportunities to improve myself , most of the jobs here only for native people I am unable to get jobs here , and I will have to return to Syria and face many hardships I don't have anywhere to go .
The road for me has not been easy and I see no end or hope in life it has affected my physical and mental health. I do not have the opportunity to forward my career or further studies there are strict regulations and they only give one option with no ways to move forward in life. I cannot move forward in any way here for a better future and life . I am trying my best to do all I can for myself and my family but its so difficult and stressful and staying positive is very difficult under the circumstances but I am someone who always tries to pursue a brighter future no matter how difficult the circumstances of my situation . We have lost everything our home our jobs our livelihood and so many friends and family due to this war .
I feel the Canadian government and the people of Canada has felt our pain and hardships and supported us through the war and appreciate all their efforts to make us feel part of their community. I pray I have chance to give the best I can of my skills and talents for Canada if they accept me as I have so much to give but no opportunities to prove myself like everyone else I just wish for some safety and security in Life and to build a better future for my family. I am volunteering in local organization to help Syrian refuge in Lebanon like save the children international and SEED and bassmeh& zaitooneh and doing all I can to help people even though I need a way to support my family in Syria also.
I have dreams to study and work I have always wished to be and do the job that I always wished to do .
