Hello forum

I just did a citizenship residency calculation and the results terrified me! I am so baffled I can't even do math anymore even though I am a math tutor! Please take a look at the schedule and tell me there is something wrong!

According to the information you provided, you do not meet the physical presence requirements of the Citizenship Act.

Shouldn't I need 100 more days to apply?

Yes.

BUT if the above calculation includes days in Canada in the days and months soon following June 13, 2013, remember those days will fall out of the calculation after June 13, 2018 (they will no longer be within the relevant five years, no longer in the "eligibility period").

There are a variety of possible explanations why it will take longer, even quite a lot longer, than four more months in Canada, to acquire credit for the additional 100 days.

As long as you properly enter the data in the Presence Calculator, you can almost always rely on its output.

I am guessing most of your bulk days are 2013/2014. So when the time frame shifts for you to get 1095. Or the extra 100 days. You loose bulk of days accumulated in the first year 2013. Meaning only days from 2015-2020 would count for your buffer days. Happened while i was counting for Pr i needed 60 days but because as the frame shifted from the extra days i had i lost those days and had no bufferdays for that period in the past, till i had to stay 8 months to get 730 days. The time frame in the past was blank and i had to make it up by staying extra days. Hope you understand.

Good luck
