I need some help. I have applied for permanent residency (Federal Skilled Category) in 2006 outside of Canada. At that time I had 68 points (minimum requirement was 67 points). However, a while ago I got a divorce and I cannot use the 4 points for my spouse education. It means now I have only 64 points. This includes 8 points for language skills (Moderate level). Now I have 2 questions.
Question 1) Should I inform the Canadian Embassy about my divorce? If yes, how can I inform them? By mail? Email?
Still my profile is "in process" status. Can I wait until they ask me for supporting documents and at that time I inform them of my divorce?
Question 2) If I take the IELTS test and improve my English skills to increase my points for the language skills (from 8 to 12), will that cover the 4 points I am missing for not having my spouse points anymore?
Hope my questions are clear and someone can help me with the right answer.
All the best
