Please can someone help? We have been going round in circles on various websites and automated voicemails and still don't know the answers!
I have a job contract and LMO certificate and am about to apply for my Work Permit. Looking at the Instruction Guide it tells us that we don't need a Temporary Resident Visa, as we are both British Citizens. Does that mean that all we need is my Work Permit Application or does my Fiancée need to apply for something too?
It seems quite ambiguous because it the gives an application form for a Temporary Resident Visa and says we must complete it, despite having already said we don't need to, as UK citizens.
On the Work Permit application I had to tick a box stating I was in the Army. It then says I MAY NEED TO complete a Temporary Resident Visa because of this! Do I, or don't I?
What forms must my Fiancée complete in order for her to come to live in Canada with me? She will be applying for a Work Permit at a later date, once we are in Canada.
I have completed the Family Member details form, on which my fiancée is listed but does she need to complete one too?
The Instruction Guide also says we MAY NEED TO provide Birth Certificates and proof that we have sufficient finances. Again, do we or don't we?
The last thing we want is to have my Work Permit delayed because we should have submitted forms for my Fiancée and didn't realise!
Even worse would be for my Fiancée to be turned away at the Canadian airport because she didn't have the correct visas or permits.

Please can someone clarify what exactly we need.
Thanks very much!

To accompany you as a dependent and qualify for an open work permit based on your work permit, you and your fiancee must either be married or common law. Common law means that you have lived together for a minimum of one full year. Do you meet this criteria?
