I have a question about processing times, please help

Hey! I sent my application (my husband is sponsoring me) on September 2012, but recived the mail saying they opened it on December 2012. From which day I supposed to count my progressing time? For example, to past first step it should take 6 moths, so I should get the answer on March or June? Sorry I'm not an expert 8)

If your application is sent to Vegreville (inland) then 6 months for you would be March.

It's Acknowledgement of Receipt. (AOR) Yes most likely everything you submitted is complete unless they ask for anything through mail or email, so no news is good news till you get Sponsors approval. Good Luck!

thank you s much for an answer. Can you just tell me one more thing - when I got approved and pass the first step I've heard I could apply for working visa - is that true?

Yes an open work permit or a study permit. I received mine 5 days after sponsors approval but I sent it with the application.

That's too bad I didn't send it with my application. Oh well, now I will just wait for my first step approval and go from there. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long, I really want to start working as well. I really appreciate your help!

You're welcome. Well you will get your sponsors approval in just a month so just apply for an open work permit right away once you get the AIP emails.

I sure will! I had wrong information that I can't do it until I get approved. It probably will take couple months as well but knowing I will finally be able to work makes me so happy. That changes so much! ;D
