Hi,

In the comprehensive ranking system, i get 453 points, what are my chances of being selected ?

Let's say if am NOT selected, then what happens to my application?

Is there any IMPROVED chances in the next draw ?

Or i will have to wait forever to get the lowest selected score to be 453 or less ?

Thanks!

well we have seen ITA given to 450+ applicants so you have fair chances. ONly the thing is CIC has decided to clear the backlog and inviting only high CRS candidates and from oct onwards ITA are expected to drop down to 400+

Or else if you dont want wait you may improve your score by enhancing IELTS, TEF results, Or some other province nomination or job offer

Honestly, no one knows. I am sitting at 460 and getting pretty frustrated with the low ITAs. So if there is a way to improve your CRS, then do it. I can improve it by 3 points if I get a CLB 10, and 3 more points if spouse writes a great IELTS (she has a CLB 8). So can go to 466 but it is a really long shot.

Check if you can improve your CRS.

With more provinces closed for nomination, it is only a matter of time before CIC lowers the cut off. Give it a few more months. :)

Well, with the language skills, i don't have anything to improve because i have already put the maximum.

But if i have to improve, i think i should either try a province nomination or job offer. I don't have a partner.

Sorry guys, but I don't believe it's realistic to believe CRS scores will drop to 400+ by the end of the year.
The chance of it happening is very low. There are quotas for PNPs, but also for all the streams and those are filling up quickly with scores higher than 470.
There are new applicants every day. With better profiles than yours. It's not like the pool is getting emptier as time goes, on the contrary.

So if you want PR, you need to look for a job with LMIA or try for PNP.
Maybe in 6 months or 1 year, jobs without LMIA will give 600 its too... and other changes will help. Maybe not.
For now, reality is you need at least 470.

Sorry Guys.
Just to ley you know, I had 451 points and luckily got invitation last year Jul and landed in Canada last week.

I suggest try all your possibilities and dont loose te hopes. Keep a close eye on PNP s. Because they open and close quickly some time...because they release very few applications...

There are many ways that you can get into Canada since it has many provinces...

Good luck.

453 was hit twice last year & twice this year already, statistics are in favour of this cutoff so there's a high probability of scores coming down to that point again pretty soon. I got my ITA with 453 this year so worry not.

Its definitely a good score and I got ITA last year with 451 and landed back in February.

There is definitely a good chance for you as well. As with most things in life, timing is a bit of luck. The way things are currently going, I wouldnt expect that you could get ITA at 453 within the next 1-2 months but in the medium term, your chances should be pretty good.

Do you have any possibility of adding a few more points with a better language result for example?

Either way, wish you all the best and hope you dont have to wait too much longer.

Based on stats up until last round...

Last year: about 30,000 ITAs
This year (after 5 months): 13,000 ITAs

Expected number of invites to match 30,000 : 1,000 / round
That means a CRS score of about 470.

Though... we can expect less ITAs this year as quotas have been reduced for economic stream.
We can see they've started with 1,500 / round, then 1,000, and now they're only inviting 700-800 per round.
The scores are defined by the number of invites made. The less they give, the higher the score.

Scores of 450 are only possible with invites of 1,500, and as the invites are being reduced, those scores are being dropped way back. A few more rounds at 700-1000, and those 450 scores may only be reached with a very high number of invites... which really sounds unlikely.
That kind of score may be possible again in the beginning of the next year.

I'm just trying to help here... I know this process can be frustrating. You have to be realistic if you want to make it.
For those you got ITA with 450 before. That's great !
If you look closely, you can see score only got higher this year, while number of invites got reduced.
(Last year was different, first year, slow start, random rounds)

Getting the cut off to 450 will take time but is definitelypossible. If the "new cut off" is really 470, then CIC should have told everyone below that score to drop their dream to Canada hehe.

CEC, and applicants with job offer will not be enough to cover Canada's immigration needs. And with almost all provinces closed for nomination, they are bound to lower the cut off. It's a waiting game but it should be worth it.

The next two draws are expected to have high average CRS scores (470+), but after that the CRS requirement will drop again to increase ITAs. Anything above 450+ is definitely a good score. Plus, most nominations will open their gates again in the next 3+ months. Keep you hopes up and good luck!!!

ITAs are not score based ! CIC decide on how many invites per round, and the score is cut off to match that number as closely.

As of now...
A score of 480 is 750 ITAs.
470 may give about 1000 ITAs.
460, about 1500 ITAs.
While a score of 450 probably gives 2500+ ITAs. Way too much !

If they continue with rounds of 750 invites, we'll probably see that a score of 470 will generate not 1,000, but 1,500 invites !
Which will make it even harder to get ITA in the future with such a score.

Easy to understand how this goes. They try to match the score that give them the number of ITAs they planned.
They don't care if the score is 450, 470 or 530.

The pool is growing everyday. To match a 450 score, CIC would have to make several very large round of invites. And the more time goes by, the larger those rounds would have to be. So... chances are getting slimmer !

It's basic analytics.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but highly unlikely.
The way I see it, for this to happen, it will require to have no more new profiles above 450 (hum, not happening), and/or CIC starting to make rounds of at least 1,500 now (possible later, too late). Then maybe some would be selected, before the cap is reached.
Time is not your friend here.

So I'd suggest you look into LMIA and PNP, instead of hoping for something that is unlikely to happen.

That's precisely what I have in my mind. With the low ITAs continuing for more rounds, it only enlarges the pool with 450+ candidates. So, if the scores ever drop, I don't see that dropping below 460, barring drastic measures from CIC.

Once CIC releases the mid year report for 2016.
That will give us a better idea of what's to come.
