Hi all,

I am thinking of applying for PR through the Federal Skilled Workers programme. At the moment, I hold an MA in Political Science from a Canadian university. Based on my reading of the assessment criteria, this should earn me 23 points (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers/six-selection-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html#toc1). I also have a BA equivalent in International Relations from a Scottish university, and I am not sure if I should get it assessed for my application. CIC's website seems to say that you only need to submit the highest level qualification (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1068&top=29). Since my first degree was only a BA, I do not reckon it would get me any extra points or contribute to my application in any significant way.

Do you have any thoughts on whether I should get the BA assessed? I know it is good to be safe and have it done; but at the same time, the price of an assessment is quite steep.

Thanks,
G
