Dear friends,

How are you?

I hope you are fine and in good health.

Sorry for bothering you again; but i want to ask you a question.

Today i recieved an e-mail from the the immigration section at the Canadian Embassy in Egypt asking me if i am still interested in immigrating to Canada or i want to withdraw the application and get refund.

Please find below a copy of the e-mail:

***********************************

- Do i have to send them an e-mail or letter to inform them that i am still interested in immigrating to Canada?

sorry again for this long message but i really need your help bec. all my friends were Quebec nominee and they didn't get this letter.

Thank you in Advance.

It means what is says. If you have changed your mind about immigrating to Canada, let them know and you get your fee back. If you still want to immigrate to Canada, do nothing.

They are probably getting ready to start processing your file.

This sounds funny to me too.
Why would they ask if you're still interested ? If you were not u would have communicate that to them

Could be that

1. They think that you wont get through and giving u a chance to withdraw your application
OR
2. Because of the new changes o be put in place , theyy are asking applicant to comfirm that they are still interested.

Lets hope its the latter

bUt i agree with Leon.. do nothing if you are still interested or reply by email that you are still interested.

The London office has been sending out letters like that too. As far as I know, it has nothing to do if they think you will make it through or not. It probably more because it takes a long time to process these FSW applications and people who are waiting may have a different situation by the time their application goes through, maybe they don't want to immigrate anymore or maybe they already immigrated somewhere else.

I would think that they have problems with people all the time who want a refund after their application is already processed because they have changed their mind so now they seem to be giving people a chance to back out and get a refund if they want or otherwise inform them that they will not get a refund if they change their minds later. It could also be to cut down on the waiting list since there is no point in processing someone's application if they aren't going to go.

Thank you Leon and ssanndy for your posts.

I think i will send a letter to the Canadian Embassy to comfirm that i am still interested in immigrating to Canada to save time as i don't want to wait two or three years to immigrate to Canada.

Below is a copy of the letter i am intending to send to the Embassy. Can you review it. If you have any comments on it please send it directly as i am intending to send it by Saturday.

Ahmed, I dont even think you need to write to them that you are STILL interested. The letters are only for those who are no longer interested in having their applications considered and want a refund. If you dont write to them, they will presume that you still want to go to Canada anyway. Based on the assumptions that immigration staff in any country do not have very high IQ levels, if I was you I'd rather keep quiet and not make things complicated for them!

Whenever you receive a letters from CIC, you have to reply if they require you to do so.If a reply is not required by them they will ask you to ignore the letter. Perhaphs they do not have time to write unnecessary letters.

Immigration staff are trained people and deal with individual cases very professionally, in accordence with the marrit of the case.It is highly unjustified to say "that immigration staff in any country do not have very high IQ levels".

All comments on this forum must be weighed carefully by the readers as partcipents are not immigration lawyers, consultants or otherwise experts in immigration matters.

I understand keeping in mature bounds of respect & decent norms must be adhared to while making comments.

Yes you are exactly right to say that. Because of longer queues many people change their mind. The objective of such letters is to screenout unwilling applicant.Thats why I suggest "You must reply CIC letters if they want you to do so".Not replying is not in your own interest.

Esteemed members are also requested to check spellings before posting new notes as errors can potentially cause complications for some readers (As a suggestion, MS Word can be a helpful tool for spell check if someone cant do it him/herself)

Also I'd like to clarify that I made that comment about immigration staff from my own experience of having applied for and visited 8 countries on short/long term visas and having seen how very minor things can confuse immigration staff at visa posts/missions/embassies and at the airports. I believe I was fully equipped to make that comment which came from personal experience rather than from stories of 'friends'. Still I have the audacity to be humble and say that no one has to agree with me!

"Still I have the audacity to be humble and say that no one has to agree with me!"

These remarks donot match with rest of your statement.

We can appreciate your effort & contribution of "13" posts on this forum. Now we also know that you had the opportunity to visit "8" countries with lots of difficult experience at the hands of immigration officers. After all they had been doing a duty assigned to them.

I understand IO's are confident individuals with a capacity to deal all cases effeciently. As a result of bad experience one should not become sentimental & arrogant.

A lot depends upon your own attitude as well. Be polite and you will see IOs will be polite to you in return. If you pretend to be a so called immigration "specialist", they know how to handle such "experts". Arrogance is Virtue of an (....). Adopt a good attitude,be patient, polite & donot jump on to make immature conclusions. You will achieve great results. good luck

Quantity of posts of members says nothing. Just because the member is recent here, if he is trying to be helpful to someone, we should take that at face value. In one month, he could have more posts than you.
