Well at first I wanted to apply Outland but I worry that I won't get my FBI clearance in time before my status expires on July 31, 2010. I know I need to file for another extension but when.

Before I mail the application?
After it has been received by Mississauga?
Send off the application without the clearance to make sure I don't miss my deadline when filing an extension?

I have already received two extensions already with the last one asking for more time to get married and file but they only gave me 5 months. That could have been because I wasn't married at the time but common law. I really don't want mail off another saying that the application won't be sent out to a certain date. I just would really like it to be approved but I could use advice because I don't know the right way to go about this.

Help me because I am truly going out of my mind here. ??? I might just file Inland because I don't see us having a complicated case and can't see our local office being extremely busy as no one hardly immigrates here. It has been proven by statistics. I like the fact that I can stay with my soon to be husband for the entire time even if it takes years. I just worry how many years are at stake. Is there anyway to find out the local office processing time? That might help give me an idea.

Yes, I am aware that Outland is generally better and faster but right now the most important thing to me is to be able to remain with my fiance without worrying if an extension is going to get approved or not. I discussed it with my mom and explained that if I did it this way that it could take years and she said not to worry, even though I couldn't go home, she would be able to come see me. Which is the only thing I truly miss about home.

Ugh...why can't there just be an in between to all of this. :(

People have been able to file applications without FBI clearance first. If you send a letter explaining that you applied but it hasn't come yet, and even better have some proof that you applied for it, that may help.

After you send the application, they may not even open the envelope for 2 months, because other people are ahead of you, so the most important proof that you have filed/are filing is the fee receipt. At least pay the filing fee before easking for an extension.

If you apply for an extension just before July 31, you won't even get a decision on that till about the end of September. By then, you might have sponsorship approval on your application, even with the missing police report.

What should I say in my reasoning for the extension request?

I just don't know if they will give me another one since I already asked for one so that I can file PR and if they see that I still haven't, they might not like that. I already have the fees paid for on the PR and showed that to them during the last extension request.

Hmm...I have decided to file Outland but I just don't know what to do about the extension. I am certain that they would be more willing to extend my stay if I sent off the PR app first and could provide them with a copy of it being received by Mississauga. What do you think?

By the way, thanks for taking the time to help me. ;D

That would probably help but keep in mind Mississauga will probably not send you anything until the sponsorship is approved. Maybe you can get a signature confirmation of the package and give a copy of that to CIC?

If you apply for an extension then you are of implied staus for 100 days.So send in the PR supply a copy of the corier envelope with mississaugas address on it stating that you applied for your PR and request an extension based on that.

In case anyone is misled, it's not 100 days, it's until the request is processed. Last I looked processing was taking 60 days.

Yes but you need to apply for the extension.Either way but putting proof in that you really did apply for PR might help.
