I applied for a study permit and my application was rejected because they say I have family ties in Canada. None of my family members reside in Canada. There might be some people there with the same last name as mine but none of my relatives has ever went there.
How can I prove to the officer that I do not have any family members in Canada?

State the full reason for refusal. Is it just family ties in Canada and home country?

No, there's a second reason which states "The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application" and the only family ties they mentioned that I have were in Canada not in my home country.

So the second reason can mean many things - not genuine student, not advancing career/education to justify costs. Order GCMS notes to get full reasons.
