Hello,

I didn't leave Canada since I came to study 2 and half years ago. do I still need to issue the police clearance from countries which I lived in it more than 6 months?

Thanks,

Thanks scylla.

Any other experience with this topic?

Hi,

Please check the link below. CIC would let you know if they needed one from Canada.

How to get a police certificate varies by country. Some are relatively easy and some are more difficult. You may want to ask in the different threads for the countries have lived in (it doesn't matter which class, you can ask in Family, Skilled Worker, etc - just find one for the country you need).

If for example, you've lived in Brazil, Argentina, and Peru, you would need to view the CIC directions on how to get one for each country. I would do that asap because sometimes police certificates can take a long time to collect.

This website is the main page, it will lead you to each country: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

You don't need Canada. CIC will collect one from RCMP on their own. If you have only lived in Canada and your home country, then all you need is home country. If you have questions about the USA, I can answer those :D

One note - CIC rules say six months or longer, but if you have lived in a country (even to visit) for more than 5 months, I would order the certificate anyway. Several people have reported being asked for certificates when they were only visitors for 5.5 months.
