on the immigration website I can find no answer .
The basics:
my family -
1 American Citizen ( me)
1 Dutch national with a US PR green card ( my husband )who has been a PR of the US for the last 10 years
1 Dual American/Dutch citizen ( our last and 15 year old daughter )
We would like to immigrate permanently to Canada and husband and I both qualify in several different ways from farming to self employed to skilled trades.
I helped my husband when we came back to the States from Holland and I am not understanding something on the Canadian PR apps .
They are saying you need to show proof of residency in Canada on the applications ( which I am sure you all know ) and I have no clue how to do that .. I thought you had to have a PR BEFORE you could rent any sort of residence in Canada if no one else you know is living there . I lived in my husbands house when I and our daughter immigrated to Holland years ago so there was an instant address.
CAN you rent an apt in Canada without a PR card ?? .. I think I am misunderstanding something and just cannot see it . I know this must look just ridiculous but I cannot find an answer to this on the Immigration site
We did our own coming back from Holland and it was time intensive and a little twisty and 9 months long but not not difficult .
At this point we are both self employed in jobs that we can take anywhere. Living in Seattle and want to move to the Vancouver/Surrey/ Victoria areas.
Not sure how to proceed .
