I am a US citizen and my boyfriend is Canadian - How can he sponsor me?

Hi All,
My bff is from Canada and I am a US citizen. We are dating for almost a year and I want to make a move to live in Canada, he wants to sponsor me, we can't get married because he is separated for more than five years (no legally - not divorced - no kids). He owns his home (nobody else). He talk each day thru Face time and also we drive back and for (US-CANADA). Could you tell me which will be the best way to sponsor me? please let me know Thanks!

In order for him to sponsor you, you need to either be married or common law. Common law means that you have lived together for a full year and can prove it. So at this time, he cannot sponsor you.

The first step would be to either get married or to live together for a year first.
