Hello there, I just got my PR after waiting for a long time. I am from Yemen. My questions are which countries i am not allow to go? and am i going to have difficult time re-enter Canada because of my status"holding PR with protected person status"?

Anyone of the same issue with experiences traveling with PR card with protected person status? share your experience of coming back to Canada.

Greetings,

Ali

Well I know someone did that. Are you travelling to the country against which, you got refugee status? Tjey might ask on your way back why you went there but tht's it. Once they give you pr they technically can't bother but don't go for longer period of time. N on your way coming back be prepared with answer tht wht was the reason for your travel? You can say you just wanted to meet your family or your parents who are seniors n were sick something but don't go for a long time. Best of luck.

Returning to Yemen would be contrary to your claim for protection...after all Canada has accepted that your life is at risk there. So if you travel to Yemen means you are no longer at risk and so you no longer need Canada's protection. Upon return CIC can decide to vacate your refugee approval. In the current CIC climate focusing on the integrity of the immigration system this is a risk that you should not take.

Farid, what you saying is not true, this is not a reason that claimers should take as excuse. Also, I am not trying to go Yemen because my life is in risk seriously :). What I want to ask is if possible or allow to travel to any country close to Yemen then call my brother to bring my wife and daughter to stay with me for 2 months, like I go Oman or Dubai. Then, in my way back to Canada at the boarder, are the officers going to ask me prove the reasons of your travel?

Thanks

Msafiri, I am not going back to Yemen" I love Canada :) ". Thanks

I m sorry if you feel that, way. Ofcourse I don't want to give wrong information. But still didn't get thay why are,you scared. If you have pr even if it's by refugee status if it's valid why will they question? N above all you are planning to go to dubai or somewhere close right. They don't quesyiom just because you are going outside canada. In the same forum under gernal immigration there was a guy who didn't have the pr even. He went to cuba for a week on travel document for protected person. On vacation. But still wait for seniors reply personally I still don't feel any harm. N I m not lying I do know someone went backhome as her mother was really sick n was not being askef anything unusal at the airport by immigration officers. Best of luck for everything. Sorry once again if you felt like tht.

In your original post you asked which countries you are not allowed to travel to i.e. you started from a wide premise. I advised don't go to Yemen. You can go to any other country subject to their admission criteria. When you return to Canada CBSA can and do ask any traveller regardless of status where they have been, how long they have been there, why they have been there. You will not necessarily get additonal questioining because you are a PR via the refugee route or that you were in Oman or Dubai. They will likely focus on if you meet the Residency Obligation which as you only recently became a PR won't be an issue.
