Hello,
I need advice on the following matter.
To make my landing I had to cross the border to the US. On my entrance I was given I-94 form. While crossing the border back to Canada they didn't take that form from me and I was not thinking of returning it back as I was preoccupied with landing.
Now a month later I realize that I will not be back to the US in the nearest half a year for sure. I don't want to have any problems with US customs in future, so here is a question - how I can surrender this I-94 form now? Is it possible to surrender this form in the airport while travelling out of Canada by air?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Suin,

We have the same problem :(. I went to the US and the border officer did not get my I94 when we re-entered Canada. Here's the site:

https://help.cbp.gov/cgi-bin/customs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=752

Hope this helps.

thank you very much for a useful link, job_seeker.
have you used their service for your I-94? is that mailing address they provided valid and works?

I have not sent my I94 and supporting documents yet as I am still looking for official receipts of seminars I have attended in Canada, to prove I have been here before and after the expiry of my I94. But I intend to send my documents soon as I have to be back to the US again sometime in July and I don't want to have any trouble at entry considering they are again beefing up their security and may be even more strict with their entry rules:(

my I-94 is still valid and will be valid till end of May, but I am not planning on travelling to the US till might be late summer, so I just wish to surrender it in advance.

I am planning to send the following supporting documents together with that:

1. the copy of my entry stamp to Canada in my passport
2. my driving licence that I applied and received next week after landing (dates mentioned)
3. SIN that I applied next day after landing (dates mentioned)
4. OHIP application form done next week after my landing (dates mentioned)
4. some medical bills I received recently (dates mentioned)
5. letter from MP proving my current stay in Canada

do you think that all these can be enough? I just cannot think of something else.

I think you have more than enough. Your I94 is still valid and you just want to record your departure.

thank you for your reply, job_seeker. appreciate it a lot.

That's more than enough proof, Suin. You will be fine. :)
