Private health insurance usually doesn't cover pre-existing conditions. If you want pre-exisitng conditions to be covered, you must usually pay much higher premiums.

Thank you Syclla. Is it the same with the group medical insurance that your employer will give to the employee, they dont cover as well pre exisitng med. condition?
Do you have an estimate idea if how much is the cost of an insurance that covers a prescriptiion for a pre exisitng med. conditiion. ty

It depends on the group medical insurance plan. Each one is different and you'll have to check with yours directly to confirm what is and isn't covered. I am covered by OHIP and then have additional coverage through my employer. Both OHIP and the additional coverage cover pre-existing conditions for me. But again - this varies from plan to plan.

Unfortunately I don't know what the premium would be to purchase insurance that covers pre-exisiting conditions. I would check with your insurer directly.
