How to withdraw TRV application?

I submitted my TRV application to the CPP Ottawa office on the 26th of February via a Canada post express post envelope, it arrived at their office the next day. The processing time listed on their website currently is 12 calendar days, and it has now been 25 days since they have received my application. After sending them many emails with little response and no help, iv decided to withdraw my application in the hopes that I can received my passport back ASAP as I have a flight to China booked for the 2nd of April.

Iv sent an email requesting the withdrawal, but after researching more into it, it seems there might be some kind of form needed and that it takes 7-10 business days? Can anyone confirm this? I really need the passport back before the 2nd, I have a sick family member in China and really can't miss my flight. If they still don't respond can I just go to Ottawa my self and get my passport back?

I would like to provide update that after several emails, some fax sent and only 1 reply with wrong information from CPC Ottawa they sent back the passport with the visa.

My conclusion of this is that they are VERY disorganized and do not communicate properly with the customers. It's very frustrating the terrible customer service. Especially considering it's in Canada - other locations, other country consulates has a clear process of withdraw or speed up a process.

My recommendation to you is the opposite of what they recommend - try ALL means of communication with them until you get someones attention.

Is it mandatory to send your original passport along with the application? As far as I know, passport will be requested for visa stamp once application is completely processed and visa is approved!

Online and paper procedures are different.
