How to track application

Dear experts on this forum,
My husband is in Canada since June 2018 and has filed a sponsorship application for my 2 year old daughter through a consultant.
The application was sent on 26th July and since then there's been no news. We have not even received an acknowledgement that our documents have reached the relevant deptt.
Is there any way to check whether the application has been submitted or not or it has been received at the CIC designated office.
The consultant say she submitted the application. I am a PR and this is my last year to stay outside Canada.
Please suggest.

It usually takes between 6 to 8 weeks to receive acknowledgment of receipt, but lately we've seen that increase a bit so I think you're still within the normal timeline.
