How to successfully apply for visitor visa when spousal sponsorship is in progress?

Hi all,
I am planning to get married in January and apply for outland spousal sponsorship once I am back in Canada. I want to know how the visitor visa process works?

1. Should my spouse apply for a visitor visa while she is unmarried? Does this increase her chances of getting a positive outcome?
2. Should she apply for a visitor visa once her spouse sponsorship application is in progress?

My SO has never been outside the country and has also recently applied for a passport.

What ties to her home country can your future spouse demonstrate? Does your future spouse have employment and property ownership?

What country is your spouse from? Does your future spouse have any family members in Canada (not including you)?

It's a hard call to make since your spouse has no travel history.
