My question doesn't fall in the group that I am posting in. I apologize for it. But being more responsive group I thought to post my query here.

I want to show that I have been giving money to my only alive single parent for maintenance as her job can't satisfy her daily needs. What is the document proof that I can show to CIC?

I want to sponsor my parent by next year.

Not sure about funds exactly - but from November 2011, IIRC, CIC are not even accepting any new applications to sponsor parents or grandparents for 24 months. So sponsoring your parents by next year the, earliest you could submit an application would be November 2013, and that's if CIC start accepting applications again.

When they do, it's expected they will grand only a small number of applications. The existing "backlog" would take something like 13 years to clear.

You CAN apply for a 2 year supervisa, which effectively means they would be allow to stay as visitors for up to 2 years. During this time they would not qualify for any healthcare benefits so you would need private health insurance, and of course they would not be able to work for income.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Wayne.

Thanks Wayne for quick response.

Just to let you know that I am aware of the changes for parent and grandparent supervisa and in that context only I would like to sponsor my parent. The only thing that I want to know is how can I show that I have been giving monetary support to my parent.

Any help or advice from any member is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Navneet
