Hi,

I'm an IT guy with all kinds of in-demand skills and experience. Job sites run countless postings relevant to me, but none of the employers want to bother with the extra paperwork hiring a foreigner involves.
Is there any specific term to search for on the job sites that companies use in their postings to indicate they are interested in sponsoring immigrants?
Is there maybe a specific website dedicated to such jobs? (if not, it sounds like a good business opportunity to start one :-) )

Any advice welcome!

There is no web site.

Search for terms such as AEO and LMO. Be careful of scammers. If someone is asking for money in exchange for a job - walk the other way.

Most businesses that need temporary foreign workers either advertize themselves on Kijiji or hire a Immigration Agency to staff their ranks (such as a Nanny agency, Consultant Agency).

Realistically, there aren't any "in-demand" IT skills in Canada right now. We actually have too many IT graduates in most part of the country and they're having trouble finding jobs. With an overabundance of IT workers, no company will get permission to hire a TFW in IT.

Not to mention foreign education and experience mean very little to Canadian employers.

The only way around this is to have a skill extremely specialized in IT, something very rare and valuable. General IT skills aren't going to get you a job offer. You probably won't even get responses from most employers.

I suggest you read this thread. The first post will get you excited. Ignore it. Make sure to pay attention to the second page. There are posts from people with experience in IT in Canada and know the pitfalls.
