how to retain PR status

Dear all,
As i have mentioned before in my mails that my PR status has expired in 2011, what are the necessary documents should i carry with me if i want to travel to canada with my son and is it possible to travel with an expired PR card? and one more clarification i need is all the members of this site are immigration lawyers? i am asking this to check in case if i need an immigration lawyers support to deal with my situation.

Because your PR card is expired, I'm thinking your PR status is as well, unless you are already in Canada (which I'm doubting). In that case, you aren't a PR anymore. You will have to apply all over again. In order to come to Canada, depending on the country, you may need a visitor's visa.

If your PR card has expired, that does not necessarily mean your PR status has expired. Try contacting the Canadian embassy in the country you are in to ask how to get a new PR card.
