Hi all. I don't want to tell my manager that I'm applying for Canada immigration because the company just started a green card process for me. I'm planning to work here even after I get Canada PR (hopefully); it's just I fear that it can affect/jeopardize my GC process, and overall relationship with him.

So my question is: how to ask for a reference letter to minimize any potential doubts or concerns from my manager? Should I say that I'm applying for a tourist visa?

Which OINP stream are you applying to? AFAIK, your employer needs to fill up a form as well for the OINP (at least for the Int'l Student Stream)...

Not be honest about your intentions and about your ability to continue working for the employer while in Canada can also backfire significantly.

so what did you tell your employer?

I would recommend being honest since IRCC will sometimes contact your employer to confirm your employment.
