Hello everyone
I am confused after reading some posts.
Actually, I am working as Retail Assistant Store Manager and my yearly salary is $26000 + Bonus + Commission.
I found some posts that when some people applied as Assistant manager under CEC then VO considered them as Store supervisor because they both have almost same responsibilities.
How can I prove them that I work as Assistant manager not a Store Supervisor.
I haven't applied yet but planning to apply.
Thanks..

The letter of reference where your responsibilities are listed serves to this purpose.

That's true but sometimes they put us as Store supervisor.
What does it make different from each other? (Store Assistant Manager NOC:0621 and Store Supervisor NOC:6211)

Yes, you have to be careful. But for my part, the two NOCs look very different. If you think they are similar, you really need to read them again:

There is a big difference between the title you are given and the actual title recognized by NOC. To you and to fellow employees you might be a manager (in title) but for NOC you are a Store Supervisor. Read through Employment Requirements. Being a MANAGER is actually being accontable and responsible for what is going on. A "store manager" just "coordinates" what the actual manager has decided should go on.

IMO you are a 6211 due to your salary. Your salary seems to be of a person that isn't given too much responsibility. The opposite of a manager who would earn a lot more because he is accountable for all his decisions.

the good news is that there will not be any "excluded" occupations under express entry. Whether you make the cut is another matter...

As far as pay is concerned, VO doesn't consider the pay unless it is minimum wage.
I don't thing VO will consider the low wage to consider me as Store Supervisor. And also, I have printed the job postings that my manager posted for hiring when they promoted me which they posted on job bank as well as some other websites and they posted it under NOC:0621.
I went through a page on CIC's website where it clearly says:

Does the one year of work experience to qualify under the Canadian Experience Class include non-paid employment? Is there a minimum wage requirement for qualifying employment?

Non-paid employment does not qualify under the Canadian Experience Class. You must have been paid a wage (or earned a commission) but there is no minimum wage requirement for your qualifying work experience.

Full-time work experience means working at least 30 paid hours per week. To qualify, you must have skilled work experience, meaning work in occupations listed at NOC Skill Type 0 (managerial), or NOC Skill Level A (professional occupations) or NOC skill Level B (technical and trade occupations).

I hope it clears confusion about wages.

Umer, no confusion. There is no minimum salary/wage for the CEC program. However, the VO uses the salary/wage information in determining whether to accept your NOC. Small differences won't matter. But if there is a big difference, VO can sometimes use that (in combination with other evidence) to determine that your experience does not match the NOC.

I'm sure it wouldn't surprise you to know that some applicants try to give themselves a "skill upgrade" if their actual job duties / NOC are not eligible for CEC. VOs will look at all the evidence to make sure that it is all consistent with the NOC you are claiming.

I personally don't know enough about the occupation to say whether or not your salary is an issue.

Thanks Jess for your reply.
Information was helpful.

It says there is no minimum wage to be consider under CEC. This does not imply that your salary shouldn't match the responsibilities you are claiming. Those are different things. In fact this would certainly trigger a phone call from VO to your HR to clarify your job description/NOC as the wage is under the average for a Type 0 job (of course if your employer justifies NOC/wage there should be no problem :) ).

jes_ON has given a good explanation.

I hope it clears confusion about wages.
