My opinion is, going for CAIPS at this early stage is not going to help any way. I landed in Canada on family class sponsorship. My normal processing time was shown in the AOR letter as 6 months. But even after 14 months ECAS was "IN PROCESS" and no reply for several enquiries by fax and e mail. In fact I was not in a hurry to land in Canada as I was still working in Middle East and also used to visit Canada during the process. Then after 14 months I requested CAIPS through my sponsor paying CAD 5/- and got it within a month. From the CAIPS I could understand that my file was pending for BC, perhaps may be due to several out country travels. No other useful information I got from it.
I agree that CAIPS notes are very helpful when anything abnormal like : delay in reply, lack of updates, taking long time in processing.! It is also helpful when you are selected for the interview. You can know the probable cause of interview requirement by obtaining the CAIPS notes.
