how to Notarize certificates

Dear Members,
need help on how to notarize certificates in India, for eg, mark sheets, educational certificates etc,
notarized in the same xerox copy page or
notarize mentioning the xerox copy details in a new sheet,
members please advice how to notarize.

-Have a Xerox of original document
-take it to authorized person
-person will stamp it with date, ask him/her to write also (" True copy of original)
-pay him/her
-submit the document to CIC/VO
