I was having the same trouble and I found a solution to this hope the following helps you guys..
If you don't have a application and UCI number and want to link your application there are two simple steps
Write a mail if you don't know what embassy your file has been forwarded to Vfs office where you applied with the tracking number and passport number
And after that you can drop a mail to the immigration office for the request of application number and uci number
Note :
You need to send your asked details and write a thorough mail
The reply from the agencies may sometimes go to your spam folder
