Hi All,

My name is keerthi,me and my husband will be moving to canada soon as our PR got approved in the month of May.My husband would be travelling in the month of August to Canada and I am planning to travel in the month of October but I got conceived recently .So here my question is do we need notify the CIC regarding the pregnancy and if so what would be the process to convey them. Also I will be 28 weeks pregnant by October 12th 2018 and is it ok to travel in the month of October.
Kindly help me with your suggestions/notes.

You don't need to notify CIC about a pregnancy just a new child. Depending on what province you move to you may not have health coverage for up to 3 months.

Check with your airline given whilst flying at 28 weeks not usually any issue some airlines might or might not want a doctors note/certificate. As Canuck says you might want to check what coverage you will have for the birth but at least once your baby is born in Canada it will have Canadian citizenship.

Thanks for replying :)
We will be moving Toronto. So there will be no problem while entering in to Canada as I am little scared now because
I will be travelling alone and also read somewhere that we need to inform them about the pregnancy for being on the safer side while entry.

If we do not have health coverage till 3 months of landing then what would you suggest as better options either private insurance or global insurance from India. My husband will be travelling in August so can he apply for any insurance.

Unfortunately you won't find any plans that cover pregnancy if you are already pregnant especially for the 3rd trimester. No your husband can only start his 3 month waiting period. You don't need to apply right away but once he has a more permanent address he should go to service Ontario location with his landing information to sign-up for OHIP. You will have to pay our of pocket for the first 3 months. You can send a case specific inquiry and notify CIC of your pregnancy if it makes you feel better.
