Hi,

I'm new to forum. Hope I will get the info which I'm looking for. My Husband is on H1 and we have a daughter( Born in US) and we are expecting our second baby in Dec 2009. My husband's H1-B visa is getting expired in October 2010. So we are planning to apply for Canadian PR. We are almost done with filling the application but we have 3 following doubts before we apply. I Hope we will get the answers:

1) How to include unborn baby in the application. If we cannot include now, when can we do so? Any suggested link in this regard.
2) My daughter is born in US does she also need to get canada PR?
3) How to pay the fees? Since total members are 3( my husband, me and my daughter) do we need to send 3 diff certified checks or only one including total fees for all three of us.

I would really appreciate if somebody can help me to get the info so that we can submit the application ASAP.

1) You can not include the unborn baby in the application. You will have to update them as soon as the baby is born.

2) Yes

3) 1 check for all

can't include without proper identification of unborn child, have to wait until..

Leon, i thought that a US citizen did not need a visa to enter Canada. Her daughter is a US citizen, would she still need to get PR? and if so, why?

She doesn't need the visa to enter in Canada as per Visa Weiver rules. But she can not stay more than 180 days, i think, without notifying to immigration...

So she will need PR along with family.

Thanks,

V.

She need a PR status to stay with the family in Canada, to get a SIN etc. For visits she will not need a visa.

Once any US citizen gets the PR card for Canada, they need to show that each time they enter Canada - visa waiver doesn't matter.

She does need to get PR because as vishals_me has said, if they just took her across the border as a US citizen, she would only have visit status. She could only stay for 6 months at a time, she would not get health care etc.
