how to hold a ticket for international flight ?

does any one know what does 'HOLDING' a flight ticket means ? i have heard that if you are uncertain about your travel plans there are options of holding a flight ticket .where you can pay later. am i right ?

how and where can i hold my ticket ? if anyone know anything about please share !!

in holding the company holds your ticket for a specific date and you will have to pay after that date to confirm your booking. this much i know
i just dont know how and where to get that facility.

yoU CAN CONTACT TRAVEL AGENTS AND THEY CAN BOOK FOR YOU . AND ALSO GO TO WEBSITES LIKE CHEAPOAIR.COM AND THERE IS OPTION FOR BOOKING TICKETS i THINK.

holding is diffrent thing
it can be done in 200-500 INR
just call agent n hold the desired date's ticket if plan changed/calcined = NO REFUND

I have just got my tickets held , the travel agents can do that. the time provided to hold varies from airline to airline. usually it is 2-3 days only. If you know a travel agent he can hold the best fair for u and keep searching better deals.
Cancellation is quite high which cost a minimum of 6k, in my case if I pay for my ticket and cancel before 24 hours then cancellation charges would be 8000
