I am not sure when I would be coming. I havent got my Visa yet If you are staying with a family , you might have restrictions cause their way of living is quite different from ours. Though some people do prefer to live with local families. I would be renting my own apartment. More comfortable for me

yea thats what i was thinking, i will go for a separate room, also i need a quiet place to take some rest , long sleeps and some boating in ferry all by myself, been tired of hectic studies and the whole visa process you know, im going to do med on tuesday ,then probably i will get visa till friday, what stage is your visa at ? have you done med ?

Danny bhai i booked a straight flight to victoria via toronto

Delhi to Toronto ( 2 hours stopover for fuelling etc at brussels) - Jet airways
2-3 days i ll check out toronto ...then an aircanada flight direct to victoria

look for +/- 3 days flexible dates thru this route you would get it in 60 i giess... i got it for 59k...

I am in USA. I do not have to get my medical done. Yes look for separate room or apartment. Because these families do not allow you to have parties and loud music and stuff. That will not be fun at all.

i hardly find places close to the univ which have 8 months lease and are furnished!!
everyone wants a 1 year lease + no smoking nd partying is written in capitals

you wont find any place with 8 months lease. It would either be one year or 6 months. Why do you want a 8 month lease?

planning a co-op term after 8 months so cant commit for a year...co-op could be anywhere in canada cant restrict myself to victoria...

hmm ... you could take on one year lease and sub-let the apartment if you find someone willing to live in your apartment for four months. People do this all the time here .

yea , i forgot that, that a bit partial of them that i have to do med and you dont , separate room is much better, you are right !

bro .... living in india or other under developed/developing countries you have a greater chance of having probs such as Tb etc etc etc...they dont want burden on their public tax money!!!

yes its unfair but then we get canadian visa after two months here in USA :'(. People in india get visa in one week.

most of the people i contacted have a prob with this as well!!! i was planning the same initially!!
