nope.. you cannot show from parents.. for individual I guess its around 12000 CAD...please check website...and usually they like 6 month average

From parents means could I have it transferred from my parents account to mine as a fixed deposit..?? And for how many months before it should be shown in account??

Yes you can :) As long as you have those funds in your name you should be fine :)

Ask your bank to provide a financial guarantee letter stating you have the necessary funds under your name :)

It does not matter in your case as you are planning to take from your parents. Attach a gift deed along with the bank statement.

If it is a gift from parents, then even 1 day old fixed deposit is fine. You can get the amount transferred after ITA as well. Documents should include gift deed and and proof of bank transaction. It can also be a cheque. For single applicant the amount should be equal to or more than $12,475. It's better to keep some extra amount to take into account converstion.

Thanks purohit for your valuable information.
As I am married and having one child, but right now I am a single applicant. I would accompany my family after a year or few (depending on my settlement in Canada). In this case funding required would be same i.e $12475.
PL respond

Yes you have to include non accompanying members while calculating pof. $19,093 is the amount required for family of three. Accompanying or non accompanying does not matter, you still have to show this amount.

Exactly. You have show the POF as a family of three members. It does not matter if they accompany your or not.
