How to fill out "Current Country of Residence" on IMM0008 as Implied Status

Hello, I'm currently on implied visitor status and I'm submitting my inland application next week (woohoo!). On question 10 of the IMM0008 (Generic Application form) where it ask to state your status in your current country - what do I put? Visitor? Other? And what about the dates? Do I put when my permit expired in the "From" section?

I must admit that I'm not certain about this, but my suggestion would be to enter the dates that you are under implied status as a separate event on the form.

Use the day that you entered into implied status and the date that you mail the application for the `to' date. You'd like to think that CIC will be able to figure it out from there.

As far as status goes...I'd say you're still a visitor with valid status, until told otherwise by CIC if your extension is denied.

Ok thank you Ponga. Sent my application extension on the 30th of Sept and my Visitor status expired on the 31st of October. Here's to hoping my I don't come back with an application rejection within the next week...

I was thinking selecting "Other" under status and typing in "Implied Visitor Status" and then for the "for" using the date of which I entered into implied status and leaving "to" date blank.

Hey I'm in a similar situation like you I applied for visitor extension and then applied for employer specific work permit....

I applied work permit on a visitor extension on 2nd September 2020 and work permit with job support letter fromPNP on 29th September though haven't got any response yet...

Have you received any response and when did you apply your work permit?

Hi everybody, I am in the same situation here. Do you already have an answer for this? I think the idea proposed by [B]jailbird2569[/B] is the most appropriate way to fill out this form while being on implied status... isn't it?
