i just want to know if i want to find out medical status .where to tick on gcms notes which one is on cic website

If you want your medical coding, you can just request the electronic notes. They enter the IMS coding into the GCMS notes.

If you want to see the details of your medical file, you should request your medical records. Note that the medical records come from a different computer system (IMS) than your case notes (GCMS) because only the final coding from your medical file (M01, etc.) is recorded in GCMS.

Then just ask for electronic notes. That will include the status of everything in your file, including medical results.

Hi! Where and how do you get these gcsm notes?

GCMS = "Global Case Management System" - the software that CIC uses to manage cases now (it replaced two older systems FOSS and CAIPS)

Start here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp

They are required to reply within 30 days unless there are extenuating circumstances for the delay.

Is it free? And can u apply for it from jamaica?

The person requesting them must be in Canada. If you are in Canada, and you request your own notes it is free. If you are outside Canada, you must authorize someone in Canada to request them for you and there is a $5 charge. If you do not know someone in Canada, you can use a service to do so (and they will charge you on top of the $5). I have used www.caipscheck.ca in the past successfully but there are others out there as well - search for "GCMS notes" and you will find several services that come up in the search results.

Thanks for the info!

Hi
Since you are discussing medicals in GCMS, I will ask how to analyse the GCMS report.
What should be written in the report if the medicals were received, but application status was not updated?
Some background: CIC says that the medicals were received, CIO says that they were not received. How can I verify it in GCMS?
my GCMS says 'PNP-Medicals Pending'. What does it mean?

thank you

Normally it would state "Status: Passed" under "Medical" if your medical results had been received. The other thing to look at is the "M Profile". This should say "1" or "2" (if it says something else, there is a medical issue.)

thanks for help, I really appreciate it!

Under "Medical" it says Status: Sent
"M Profile" is empty
"MOF Rational Exists": No

Under my medicals it also says:
"IME #" ...
"IME Status" received
"Reason for Closure" paper
"RMO": Ottawa HMB

Though for my husband these lines are empty ::)
Do you know how to read it?

(IME = "Immigration Medical Exam"). Does it mean they received my exam, but not my husband's?

I would like to know that does the file will be delayed if you apply the GCMS note?
Some of my friends said if you apply the GCMS, the federal may have to delay the your case, so you will get the ppr much later, is that true?
