how to carry extra weight to canada?

i have booked KLM airline. it allows only 23kg + 5kg.

but i need to carry more weight.

Any idea how can i do that??

You can bring in additional luggage/baggage for a fee. Contact your airline.

What are you bringing to Canada that is so heavy?

You can also send it by post. If you want to take all your belongings, you could take a container but unless you are very fond of your stuff, it is usually not worth the expense. I have found that to ship a couple of boxes, post is often the best deal.

If you want to take all your belongings, by sea, is your best option. Contact a relocation company.

Hello ramanbeeth,

To and fro USA and Canada has a "Piece concept" or "Code 2 PC" baggage system.

Most of the International Airlines to and fro USA and Canada allow check-in baggage up to 23 kg x 2 pcs= 46 Kg total under "Piece concept", plus cabin baggage from 7 to 10 kg (standard ) according to the airlines.

Therefore verify your ticket or ask your agent or call the KLM office near to your area (if available) to make sure that you can carry 2 suit cases of 23 kg each and additional hand luggage or not.

If not, I advice, you should choose other airline if you did not buy your ticket yet. There are lot of other airlines from India allowing 46 Kg + hand carry.

More over, if you fly with KLM, I think, you have a waiting time of 7 or 8 hours at Amsterdam or at Paris for your connecting flight to Toronto. Please check that too. What happens during more waiting time at European airports.

• No free drinking water at those airports like in Indian airports

• a small cup of coffee could cost 3 to 5 euro, or convert your US dollar ( still you loose)
