Hi Everyone,

I have sponsered my in-laws and they are here now in Canada but are creating problems in my family. Is there any way to cancel their immigration? They are here for a year now. Please help me.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately happy Bee, there is nothing you can do. When you sponsored them you signed an agreement which withstands for the duration of the undertaking and this cannot be withdrawn. Since they have been granted PR you cannot cancel your agreement.

Agreed. You can out-law your in-laws, like not talk to them anymore but when you sponsor somebody, you are responsible for them for the next x years and you can not cancel your sponsorship. For most relatives other than spouse, you are responsible for them for 10 years so you better hope they don't go on welfare.

If your in-laws require social assistance you are responsible to pay for it and are liable for 10 years,it might be in your best interest to keep on good terms and help them as much as you can to be self sustaining eventhough that may suck, but it will be worse if you have to pay your bills AND thiers...good luck
