how to call spouse in Canada

Hi

I stay in India,I have applied for a P.G.Diploma program in Toronto.The College has offered me the offer letter. I would like to know
1) On which visa my husband can accompany me?
2) we have been informed here that to apply for my husbands visa/open work permit i required Social Insurance Pin(SIN) which take 6 months to come.Is it true that i have to go first and apply for his open work permit? If this is not the procedure then what is the procedure to apply for his visa and which visa should be applied and can we travel together then?

Hi,

I guess he can accompany you on tourist visa and after u get ur SIN you can apply for his Open work permit.. not sure tough you shuld seek seniors advice

1). You could do either together or after you settled in Canada, and if you apply together your spouse could ask for OWP or TVR, if he applies after you get to Canada then he will apply for TRV.
2) SIN number is nothing to do with your husband TRV or OWP.

Besides SIN is just a 9 digit number which you get as soon as you go to Service Canada to ask for it. There is not SIN cards anymore.

1) can i apply for my husbands OWP or TRV simultaneously or should i wait till my visa is approved and then apply for his?
2) Is OWP a via category or is it a clause in some kind of visa?

yes.

It is a WP with no need of job contract and LMO.

sorry to bother you but do you have any idea how long does it take for OPW to get approved?

I have been readng a few topics in this forum and came to know that many people applied for SOWP after they went to canada and after getting a job there.. so is OWP and SOWP same??

Inside Canada? people say 45 days.

Do you mean a spouse #1 goes to Canada on some visa, got job and after that spouse #2 applies for OWP from outside of Canada?

yea you are right i reach Canada first on student visa and then my husband applies for OWP from India.. should it be done this way as people are saying if we both apply toghter it might get rejected

It does not matter. You may be rejected in any of cases.
