I have a quick question regarding the creation of the Express Entry Profile:

When creating the Express Entry profile they ask for your employment and "weekly hours" you performed at that job. I have had two jobs whereas I did not work "weekly hours", in one of the jobs I worked 10 hours every other week, and the other job was an "on-call position" meaning I worked whenever I was needed and called in to work (different every week and month).

When I answered their question about "weekly hours" I instead calculated my total work hours for those jobs and divided them to see what the hours would be weekly.

Was this the correct way to do it?

Thats the best you can do in such a scenario.

Point is to achieve 1560 hrs of work to qualify for 1 year of experience for points calculator, to allocate you appropriate points for it.

The rest of these details you can explain in your LoE when your file PR application based on ITR.

Hi,

I have 2 years and 10 months of job experience. Every week 45 hours. I wanted to know would this be considered 2 years or 3 years. I understand there is a major difference of crs score based on the two. My experience is foreign continuous and full time paid.

Question
I have 4 years of experience, working 45 hours per week. meaning that's 2160 hours per year.
2160 * 4 = 8640. Does that mean I can write in my profile that I have 8640/1560 meaning 5.5 years of experience instead of 4 years?
I am not sure if it gives me a higher CRS score or not, but if it does and it is valid then I'll change it.

Once you entered your work history and finalized the creation of your EE profile, the system will automatically calculate your score.

Yea I just checked, it does.
Still wondering whether it calculated 4 or 5.5 years though.

There is no difference but a granularity (Least Count) error in the system calculation. That's for the system, i know it's not right but that's how CIC has designed the system, and we can hardly do anything about it other than accept the way it is.

We are humans (including people at CIC)...for us 2yrs. and 10 months is anything but that.

So put your exact employment dates (i mean month & year) and assume it is what it is (i.e. 2yrs + 10 months) even IF the system shows it as 3 years.

Hope your question gets answered.

Note: Anything above 30 hrs/week is 30 hrs per week for full-time employment.

No, What you explained above isn't correct. CIC stops it's counter at 30 hrs/week or 1560 Hrs in a year for an year's experience calculation.

Yes you can, if it does not change your CRS Score to lower than the draw score for that week, as you then become ineligible for that week's ITA.

Thanks CanadaWeCome for your reply!

Yes I guess it will affect my score bec these 2 jobs are connected to my NOC code. If I remove them, my declared job experience in my work history will just be 4 years as per NOC code. My score is 885, so my friend is advising it will not affect much since the draw score was around 500. Should I still proceed on removing them?

That is correct.

I assume your CRS Score is 885 without any additional points credited by PNs.

Actually this already includes the points by PN. And these 2 jobs were also declared when I applied in PN. But is it right to say that there will be no representation if I remove them in post ITA profile (considering they were declared in PN application) bec it is still in the personal history? Well, only 1 of the 2 jobs is in the personal history because the other one is after 10 years already....

Hi friends..I need clarification/advice please:

I did BE from India.

Appeared : May 2010 (I failed in 1 subject but started working as an Engineer after exams)
Cleared : May 2011

When I create my EE profile do I enter work experience from May 2010 or May 2011?
