Hi I am planning on contacting my MP. I wanted to know what is the best method of doing it? Call? Email? Visit? Also what information would they need from me? I am planning on either calling or emailing them as they close before I finish work.

You should phone 1st, then do as advised by the secretary. Most cases you never have to talk to MP..
But they advise not to go to MP unless it is too late and many months past and no response from IRCC at all. Good Luck :)

You need to first call the MPs office and explain your situation. You will be talking to the secretary so try to explain your situation in less than 4 sentences... keep it brief. You will either be invited to meet with the MP or asked to email your information for staff to look into your file. The email will outline all the information you need to provide.

They will contact IRCC and get back to you with information. The staff will get back to you within five working days.

You must have gone past the processing time before they will look at your case. They will not provide assistance for any file that is still within the processing time frame as per the CIC website.

This process does not speed up or expedite your file. It allows you to get a more detailed understanding of why your case is taking longer.

good luck

Why? From your posts, you only applied in January and you've had additional information requested. The MP's office is there for actual issues. Order your GCMS notes instead.

No point. They won’t be any help to you

I just did an MP enquiry last Thursday. What I did was email the MP's office, provided all the details, including application number, UCI numbers for both myself (sponsor) and PA. Explained my issue. I also attached the form that I sent with my husband's signature for when I requested the GCMS Notes a few months ago. I received an email within an hour saying that they will be contacting IRCC and will let me know the outcome. I'm hoping to get something in the next couple of days.

However as other's have said you probably won't get much if you do an MP enquiry now as probably the only thing that they can tell you is Criminality is passed and the rest (security/eligibility/background check have not started). Your best bet is to request GCMS Notes.

Right that's what I said , there are people who sponsored in OCT 2017 and are still waiting.

They were no real help to me until the end of the 10 month mark

July 6, 2019 was my 10 month mark. I have appointment today at 1pm with my MP in Ottawa. What happened when your MP contacted CIC?
They call the call centre and give you the details the agents have. Youll get more information ordering your notes

Some MPs dont wanna see you be4 1 year deadline. An MP can only get an update what is happening why file is held up ; within a week or so . Nothing more an MP can do. They will look at the file and write a line or 2 to the MP. It wont be expedited in anyway .

So I just finish with the MP representative. I mean she seems serious about it and said she's going get to the bottom of it and check status and why a September 6, 2018(received application) took six months to start my wife's application. So basically Immigration started my wife's application on March 1, 2019 and they sent correspondence letter on March 12, 2019.
Other then that, I'm not sure what else to think about now

Hello guys, would someone please tell me how to contact MP?
Its been almost 14 months for my husband application and no updates since april
