Hello everyone,

Hope all is well, I have two brothers that are mentally challenged currently residing in the Philippines and I would like to apply them a visitor visa to reunite with them. My two brothers are financially dependent on my parents. My mom has been holding a visitor visa and my Dad is US Citizen. I have no idea where or how to start their application since they are persons with disabilities. I have been researching online and I haven't got any information on how to apply for them. I was wondering if anyone has the same situation or can help me direct to resources. Thank you and have a Happy Family Day!

How old are they? They submit separate visitor visas the same as everyone. They show ties to home country, funds (show parents funds), travel history etc. Do your brothers work or go to school? You can provide them a letter of invitation on length of visit and what they will do while in Canada. Assume you are PR or citizen.

Have they visited the US before?

36 and 34 years old. They never attended school. Since I am applying for visitor visa on their behalf, how would they know if they are PWD?

They will need to take a medical.

The link to apply is below.

Given their situation, it will be more difficult to show ties and get their visas approved. My recommendation would be that your parents show proof of funds to support their stay in Canada (not you). Are there any other ties they can demonstrate to their home country? It sounds like they are not attending school of any kind and I assume they are not working since they are PWD. Are they attending any sort of program in their home country currently? Do they have any previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK?

What is the longterm planning for them if your parents pass? If there are documents drawn up to show that their longterm future in the Philippines has been arranged that may be helpful. There will be concerns that the whole family will want to remain in Canada.

Have they travelled before to the US for example?
