How to apply GCMS notes from India

Hello,

First of all, I am sorry if the topic is a duplicate topic. I tried to search for this in this forum. I could not find a relevant answers.

Could someone please tell me how to apply for GCMS notes from India.

Read through these links. It appears that you need some one in Canada to apply for them; they will need your consent to do so.

Hi

I applied for my GCMS notes 10 days back from india.
you need to follow the steps below:
1. Find a friend who is currently in canada. keep his phone number, complete postal address with you.
2. Create a letter addressed to the Citizenship and immigration canada stating that you are authorizing your friend XYZ to obtain information under the privacy act on your behalf. state in the letter your friends complete postal address along with his phone number.
3. In case you have any dependents in your application, you might to create multiple letters.
4. take a print out of the letter, sign it and then scan it into a pdf and keep it handy.
5. Open the GCMS website. and apply posing as your friend, give address details, his resident status in canada etc. if you have ny doubt..better ask your friend before hand.
6. there will be an option, whether you are obtaining this info on your own behalf or your friend.. "SELECT someones elses behalf."
7. make sure in the friends email id details.. you enter your own email id. dont need to enter your friends email id, because you will directly get the notes on your email id that way.
8. follow the next steps which would require, entering your aplication number, UCI etc..
9. in the end you will be required to upload the authorization letters.. this is when u upload the scanned letters from step 4.

thats it.. you are done.

these are the steps which i followed. i am not sure if i will get the notes on time or at all.. just sharing my steps of execution :)

In case you don't know anybody inside Canada willing to apply for you, you can contact www.lawpoint.ca. They charge $25.

aren't we supposed to use that representative form from our application package OR will this simple authorization work in case of GCMP??

Incorrect. You are suppose to use Consent for an Access to Information and Personal Information Request (IMM 5744).

Thanks for correcting... I meant there had to be another form than just a plain authorization! All good from my end....

Question - Can GCMS be applied for each applicant? I can see if we prepare the 5744 form, we'll have to do it for all applicants....

You can apply GCMS for each applicant on your file however you need to use IMM5744 only for those applicants who are over the age of 18.

can i authorise a friend instead of my consultant. Because i have signed in use of representatives form for apply PR

yes you can do but you have to cancel your current representative and add your friend...

Hi,

I disagree with June02. You don't need to cancel your current representative if your friend has to apply the GCMS notes on your behalf.

Use the form IMM5744 authorizing your friend to apply.
 
If you are not in Canada, you would need someone to do it for you. It could be a friend of yours or a company which does it.
I've been looking through the companies and the cheapest I found is: http://gcmsnow.com/
Prices vary dramatically from $23-200 so check carefully

I actually used these service http://gcmsnow.com/ . Very good and they answer fast.
Can anybody say what is IPM in my notes?
