Hi everyone,

I'm struggling for weeks in order to solve my problem so I decided to ask you.

I am coming in British Columbia in January 2017 for a total length of 4 months. According to the immigration rules, I do not need a Study permit. But I'm planning to work on Campus so I need one.

The problem is when I try to apply for a study permit online, when I select "Less than 6 months", it tells me that I don't need a study permit and redirects me to my account.

How can I do to apply for a student permit while staying less than 6 months ???

Thanks !

Alexandre

I believe you can still apply as it says on this the CIC faqs

However it looks like this is done, for example, if you intend to follow-up with another course or something like that. But I think working on campus could be a valid reason to get one as well.

Apply by paper.

You don't need a study permit for four months studies, what you need is TRV not study permit and you can't work with TRV.I have also been accepted to study with McGill University in Quebec in January 2017 for six weeks and i will be applying for TRV. If you apply on paper and request for a study permit because you want to work on campus, your application will be refused and if then apply for TRV they will refuse you because of your earlier intention.

Agree.

Why would you need to work on campus during only 4 months stay? Is it a part of your study program?
