Really sorry to hear your bad news. If you wish to give us some details, perhaps someone can help you determine the liklihood of your success. Have you done a search on the main forum page (white box, top right corner)? There have been a number of people who have requested reconsideration and had the decision overturned. Sometimes the numbers just don't add up and that is where the experience of forum members can help you before you spend a lot of money on appeals. It may turn out to be faster to reapply when the date reopens. All the best.

I applied in May 2008, In process since then, never requested docs.

May 2012 decision made

Received refusal letter dated June 2012

Reason " NOC not on eligible occ list as per MI 1" while one of my NOC is on eligible occupation list,

Sent email/ letter for reconsideration on July 1st, no reply yet

If you have someone in Canada it only costs $5 with your written permission (there are specific forms to complete), otherwise you can order them through certain companies and the cost is around $40. May take around 40 days or so. They will email notes to you. The notes CAN provide valuable insight into the VO's decision making process, depending on what stage your application has reached. Good Luck.
