Hi, I obtained an offer letter for postdoc from University of Alberta said that the first day of employ is Nov. 1. 2017, right now I'm in the US and the last day of legal stay is Oct. 31. 2017, however, I just checked the CIC website and it shows that the estimate processing date for work permit is 84 days. My home country is China. I do not want to go back to my home country to apply for the working permit. But if I stay in the US to apply for the working permit, this will cause me illegal stay in the US. So I'm asking is there a way to accrelate my application? Thanks.

There's no way to accelerate your application.

However note that the processing time posted on the web site is just an estimate. It's certainly possible for processing to be completed much faster.

Thanks for your reply. If it did not came to me within Oct. 31, is there a way that I do not leave US and still obtain the Canada's visa?

You would want to ensure your status in the US remains legal until the work permit for Canada has been approved.

Thanks. The start date on my offer letter is Nov. 1, does it matter if I enter Canada later than this date. For example, I obtain my working permit at Dec. 1 and enter Canada at Dec. 1?

Hello please I need your say in this , I have applied for a study permit but I got a mail from the immigration demanding a document which I have done and sent , please what signs are that and hope it is not bad for my application?
