How soon must I send passport after receiving the request?

I am planning an international travel for which my passport will be needed.
However, I might be requested to send my passport during that time (medical done).
So does anybody know how soon I must send my passport, after CIC requests it?
One month? Or two months?

you have 60 days to submit the passport.
