I don't think they send officers to home to verify. Atleast not happened in my case. You go to BLS office in Toronto and submit your passport along with your application form. In two weeks time my passport was couriered back to my residence in Toronto along with PCC. PCC is one sheet that was stapled to my passport.

hi... No they do not send any officer or anything to your home in India. They have the database where they feed your details like passport no, name, dob etc and check if there is any case/adverse remark against you. Its as simple as 5-10 mins work for them.

Depending upon case to case. If they find something fishy then they might ask the local police to verify the address which is mentioned on the Indian Passport. But usually they wont. Also, if you apply from BLS or CGI, those people are very lazy & takes lot of time to process your PCC. Keep in mind to apply very early so as not to waste any time later on after CIC asks you to furnish it.
