Hello everyone,

on CIC website it's stated that "The NOC is updated every five years to coincide with Census cycles through a collaborative partnership with Statistics Canada. The NOC was most recently updated for 2011".

Does it mean that a person has to wait 5 years to see if his occupation was added to 29 NOC? Is there any periodic revisions within let us say few months or a year for a change on the list to happen?

Thanks in advance

No, the NOC just lists every job, not just the "29"

The NOC list that you're talking about is a huge list, composed of maybe hundreds of different jobs. That list gets updated every 5 years. Most recent one was released in last year.

The 29 NOC occupation list, is a selection of high demand/highly sought occupations in Canada. This 29 NOC is chosen from the larger NOC list. This selection of occupations happens every year. New list of high demand occupations is coming in July 2012. If you're job is on this list and you have 1 year full time experience in this or 2 years part time experience, you will be eligible to apply. You will also need 67 points to pass.
